English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language classes teach the four English language competencies of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. These classes are free to immigrants and newcomers to Canada who are 16 years old or older living in Cornwall and area.

The program can accommodate individuals at various levels. The objective is to ensure that by the end of of the class, students can speak, write, listen and read English.

English as a Second Language classes are provided by the TR Leger School of Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education in Cornwall. Although classes typically start in September, students can begin any time as there is a continuous intake policy in place.
